This privacy notice is applicable to the processing of all personal data provided by you in the form available on our website (name, surname, e-mail, phone number, and comments), as well as all other personal data you may provide at a later stage so that we may offer you our services (contract data, payment data, address, tax code, bank details, language preferences, duration of your stay with us, data set out in your passport and, if you are renting a car, data set out in your driving license). All personal data will be processed in accordance with applicable legislation, including the General Data Protection Regulation (2016/679, “GDPR”) and other applicable national data protection laws in Italy (the “Data Protection Law”).

Why do we collect data?

Genoli Srl processes your personal data in order to:

  1. Allow you to use the various functionalities of our website and, in particular, allow you to make reservations for our villa, receive services, book and receive other related services such as car rental or other activities dedicated to guests and assistance therewith, and receive information. Data is also processed for related administrative and accounting purposes, statutory reporting purposes, and legal defence. We use cookies on our website to automatically identify your language preference and make it easier for you to use our website. This use of your personal data is based on the contractual and pre-contractual performance necessary to manage customer relationships as required by our statutory obligations; and
  2. Allow us to keep in touch and contact you for direct marketing purposes, to send you automated advertising material, news and updates on our villa(s), and other commercial communications about our promotions and services. The personal data processed for marketing purposes is limited to your name, surname, and email address. It is subject to your freely given and optional consent (which can be revoked at any time by contacting us), unless you are an existing customer, in which case we will continue to share marketing communications unless you object to them – now or at any subsequent time – by contacting us.

The provision of your personal data for the purposes mentioned in item 1. above is optional, but if you do not provide such data, we will not be able to provide you with the requested services. If you do not provide the consent for marketing mentioned in item 2., this will not affect your ability to receive our services.

How will your personal data be processed and stored?

Your personal data will be processed by the employees, officers, and collaborators of Genoli Srl, as well as third-party providers of digital and logistic services, accounting services, and other possible administrative services. Only personal data that is necessary to provide the services requested by us will be provided to third parties. All third parties that receive your personal data must comply with data processor agreements containing instructions on how to process your personal data.

Your personal data will be neither communicated nor disclosed to any other third parties unless we have a legal obligation to do so under applicable laws or need to disclose part or all of your data to prepare for legal proceedings, to defend a claim, or to be able to perform our services to you as our customer. Genoli Srl has taken appropriate technical and organisational measures to keep your personal data safe and to ensure that only authorised persons are able to access it. Your personal data will be stored for a period of ten years starting from the date of collection. This is for the purpose of legal defence, should it be required. We may also use your data for marketing purposes for up to twenty-four months after you have provided consent for us to do so.

Your rights and choices

You have the right to obtain access to your personal data and request a confirmation of the existence of your data, including a written report on the data we are using and for what purpose. You also reserve the right to request – in accordance with the Data Protection Law – that your personal data be amended, corrected, rectified, updated, or deleted provided that it is no longer needed for the purpose for which it was collected.  You may also request that your personal data be made available in an intelligible form to you or any other data controller indicated by you, to a technically feasible extent and provided that it is used for contract performance or based on your consent. Finally, you can request that the data processing be restricted pending rectification of your data for as long as is necessary to protect your rights.

Complaints regarding the handling of personal data can be made to the relevant authority. In Italy, this is the Garante per la Protezione dei Dati Personali (GPDP: Garante Privacy).
